A few miles north, and worth the short drive.
Your visit can run in Spanish from the first call if that is easier for your family. You explain what has been going on with your dog or cat in your own words, ask every question you have, and understand the plan before you leave the room. This page also exists in Spanish.
Behind the language is the same practice Paterson has known for decades. Dr. Paul Sova owns Blue Cross and carries on the hospital his family ran before him. Your pet is seen by a steady team, with the full history kept in one record, so nobody asks you to start the story over.
No phone tag required to get started.
Use the appointment request form with your pet's name and a day that works. It takes about a minute.
Someone from the hospital calls to confirm a time that fits your week, in Spanish or English.
From the first visit, your pet's history lives in one record at one practice. Existing clients can also use the Pet Portal for requests.
The visits most Passaic families call about first.
Rabies, distemper, and the rest of your dog's or cat's vaccine schedule are handled at the practice, alongside the wellness exam that catches small problems while they are still small. If you have a new puppy or kitten, or a pet whose shots have lapsed, we will lay out a plain schedule and keep it in the record so you never have to reconstruct it. See wellness exams and vaccinations for what a visit covers.
Beyond that, the practice handles dental care, digital X-ray and ultrasound done in-house, microchipping, and an in-house and online pharmacy. The full list is on the services page. If your pet is sick, call 973-881-0430 during open hours and we will do our best to see you the same day. We are a short drive up from Passaic through Clifton, at 470 McLean Blvd on Paterson's east side, with Thursday hours until 7:00 PM.
The Sova family has cared for pets at this Paterson practice across three generations, since 1942.
New clients from Passaic are welcome. Request a time online and we will call you back to set the time.
