A Veterinarian Families Across Passaic County Have Trusted for Decades

Blue Cross Dog & Cat Hospital sits in Paterson, the county's biggest city, and the Sova family has run it for decades. Families from across Passaic County drive in because their pet is known here, by name, on one record, by a steady team.

The Paterson Institution the County Drives To

Plenty of clinics have opened and closed around Passaic County over the years. Blue Cross has stayed at the same work: caring for the county's dogs and cats from one Paterson address, under the same family. Dr. Paul Sova owns the practice today and is the third generation of Sova veterinarians to run it.

That continuity is the reason families keep driving in from Clifton, Wayne, Totowa, and beyond. Your pet's whole history lives in one record at one practice. The team that greets you has seen your dog before. Nobody asks you to retell three years of medical history to a stranger, because there is no stranger.

Care is available in English and in Spanish, and new clients are welcome from anywhere in the county.

The Towns We Serve Across the County

Most of these towns sit inside Passaic County, and Elmwood Park is just over the county line. Each link below goes to a page about how Blue Cross serves that town's families.

Why Families Across Passaic County Choose Blue Cross

Three things a county full of clinics rarely offers together.

Heritage

The Same Family, Decade After Decade

The Sova family has cared for this county's pets for decades from the same Paterson practice. Your pet is seen by a team that stays, and their record stays with them, so nothing gets lost between visits or between doctors.

Owner-run

No Corporate Parent, No Quota

Dr. Sova owns the practice. There is no corporate office setting sales targets and no quota deciding what gets recommended. The plan you hear is built around what your animal needs, and you decide how to proceed.

In-house imaging

Digital X-Ray and Ultrasound On Site

Both are done right at the practice, so when something needs a closer look you get answers without a referral across town. For a family driving in from Wayne or Clifton, one trip does the job.
